(206/366) Snail’s Pace
July 24, 2012 – Another trip to the Island, this time with a colleague, two facilities to visit. We were in Port Alberni for an afternoon meeting, but we were running a bit early so grabbed lunch to go and headed out to the Stamp River and ate lunch on the rocks hanging over Stamp Falls. Strange that roaring water can be peaceful.
Along the path we encountered this little guy, and I can’t hep but wonder, why is it that a snail is kind of cute, but a slug isn’t? Is it because the snail is more modest? That implies that we are prudes. I really hope it isn’t because the snail is a homeowner, that wouldn’t say much about us. I don’t have a good answer, but I do know that people don’t generally mind snails, but as a general rule, we collectively find slugs repulsive. I find that rather interesting.

Too bad they don’t have a frequent traveler program. You’d likely have enough points to get a free trip.
