Day 158 - Drought Tolerant

Day 158 - Drought Tolerant

158/365 (June 7, 2010) – Sedums are great. When you have a hot location that you just can’t ever seem to keep anything alive in, Sedums often do the trick. We’ll see how these do. They are pretty drought tolerant, so they should do well. The Yucca that grew like crazy did well here…too well in fact, it had to be moved off premises since it had become a touch too greedy about space and we were being attacked a little too often by it.

Today started out like a monsoon, yet the forecast was for sunny with cloudy periods and only a 30% probability of precipitation. Improved in the afternoon though. Still, you just have to love the unpredictability of coastal weather. At least I keep telling myself that.

  2. I had a Yucca in a garden once but it died in an exceptionally hard winter. How did yours deal with the cold?

Oh and I like the textures on those – are they leaves yes?
