186/365 (July 5, 2010) – Out towards Burnaby there is a soccer field that has the coolest fence art/hanging garden. A pair of eagles passing through the chain link fencing. I keep meaning to get a photo of them, but I always forget and breeze right past after visiting Gardenworks.
This morning began by looking out the window and seeing a pigeon perched at the edge of our pond. Odd. Watched it for an hour or so, finally went out to shoo it away and it failed miserably at flying. Noticed that it had a droopy wing, but didn’t seem broken. Pondered the problem than called the vet to see if they knew where I should take it. They passed me on to the Wildlife Rescue Association and so an hour later we found a box and cornered him with a blanket. Drove him out the Burnaby to the Rescue Association and made a donation to help him out (or any other critters in need of care). On the way out a woman popped out of her car and shockingly, it was a woman I used to work with at the salon many many years ago (Colleen). Even stranger, I had been wondering about her in the past week or so.
The world is a very small place, and a strange one.
So, finally stopped to catch a photo of the eagles on the way home.
