Day 192 - The End of One Cycle....

192/365 (July 11, 2010) – Brings the beginning of another.

Took the bikes (me on scooter, Kirk on motorcycle) out to Lighthouse Park this afternoon and went for a short walk. Pretty much shattered the peace and tranquility with my little two-stroke motor. It’s been so hot that the view was hazy and not really worthy of any good shots, but a clump of dandelions going to seed caught my eye and didn’t turn out half badly. Continued on to Horseshoe Bay for a coffee before heading back. When we stopped for an iced coffee at Starbucks in Horseshoe Bay I parked my scooter in with all the Harley’s…should have taken a photo of that, it was kind of humourous. Kirk said there were a lot of eyes on me as I parked it. While we were sitting at a table having a coffee an older couple walked by the line of bikes, stopped at my scooter and walked around it a couple of times. Gave it a serious once over. It was funny.

I also took the opportunity (and Kirk trusted me) to try his bike (Triumph Sprint ST 1050) in a parking lot. I say way too much bike for me, but it gave me a bit more confidence that I could probably handle the Suzuki SV650SA I’m looking at. How good a deal I can make will probably clinch it…and right now I have it down to a pretty good deal…. thinking until Tuesday though…doesn’t look like it’s on its way out the door to anyone else at this point in time. Maybe this is my new ride – Suzuki SV650SA.

We shall see….

Day 32 - Martini Anyone?

I could use a couple of these after today. I am usually so organized. I set up a new spreadsheet at the start of every year. On it I track my hours billed, expenses, travel costs etc. I carefully track each receipt by date, cost code, item purchased, GST paid etc. It makes tax time a snap, well, as much of a snap as it can be when you are self employed.
