(125/366) Bogbean

May 4, 2012 – I glanced out the window and had two surprises. The first was some sunshine, the second was that the bogbean (Menyanthes trifoliata) in the pond was in flower. I love this funky little water plant with the wazzed out hair-do! It ended up in the pond sort of accidentally. I had purchased a water lily out…

(117/366) New Life

April 26, 2012 – Today was the last day of work for a woman in my office. She has been a fixture in the SEP group for 30 years. And even though I worked directly with her less than a year, I’ll miss her a great deal. There aren’t many people who I will openly say are truly beautiful to…

41-52-2011 – Fall Flowers

Catching up from the past couple of weeks – this is from week 41, Oct 12th to be exact. The garden is putting forth its last efforts as the colder weather settles in. If not, get your camera out and get up close and personal, there’s a lot that you don’t see when you don’t…

Day 163 – Beauty

163/365 (June 12, 2011) – Don’t you love it when you go away, but you are home in time to see something bloom in your garden? Something that usually is fleeting enough that you can miss it when you ARE home? The calla lilies in my pond are in bloom, and they have done well this year. Love these flowers.

21-52-2011 – Lewisia

One of my favourite flowers in the garden, these little Lewisia plants like it hot and dry. A tough call this spring, but luckily they grow well under an overhang so the rains haven’t rotted them out and they are doing surprisingly well.
